“Sunshine” is in the forecast for the next performance in the Maudslay Arts Center Summer Concert Series.
Folk icon Jonathan Edwards is sure to play the 1972 hit tune, along with other favorites, when he takes the stage on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Maudslay State Park, 95 Curzon Mill Road, Newburyport.
Tickets are $30 for patio seating, which includes tables and chairs, and $25 for lawn seating. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at www.maudslayartscenter.org, 978-499-0050 and the gate.
Art all around
Yankee Homecoming gets into full swing in Newburyport this weekend, and the fourth annual Inn Street Artisans Revival and Sweethaven Gallery are celebrating the art of the festival’s creator.
Jack Frost’s original sketches of New England scenes will be exhibited at the 25L Inn St. gallery starting this Saturday, and the show will remain up through Sept. 1.
The Artisans Revival runs July 27 through Aug. 4 and will feature work by local artists and crafters set up along the pedestian walkway.
The Newburyport Art Association’s Photography Interest Group is “Chasing Light” in its annual show and sale, open through Sunday, Aug. 4, in the 65 Water St. galleries.
More than 25 members will show a variety of pieces in traditional and contemporary formats, with one wall featuring bare prints to demonstrate the variety of papers used for printing. An awards reception will be held this Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The galleries are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m., and admission is free.
