WEST NEWBURY -- Health agent Paul Sevigny reported on Friday that the precautionary measures notice the Health Board placed on Mill Pond has been removed. A laboratory analysis, conducted on Sept. 10 for cyanobacteria showed levels below state public health guidelines.
"This is the second sample that was below the guidelines, therefore, the precautionary measures as described in the August 22 notice are removed," Sevigny stated.
"At this time of year, it is unlikely that the levels of cyanobacteria would increase, but visitors to the Pond should still remain vigilant on the potential risks," the health agent noted.
