AMESBURY – Mike Welch and Rob McKeown will present a program on Colonial taverns at Amesbury Public Library on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m.

Welch and McKeown will take the audience on a musical trip to a local tavern in the late 1700s. Singing period songs and using a variety of instruments, they will draw present their Colonial world of “wine, women and song.”

They will talk about what an 18th century tavern was like, how and why they came about, and what the music, people and events were like.
