Alzheimer’s charity night at Flatbread
Dale Ann and Dale Bob Eckert will host their 7th Alzheimer’s charity night at Flatbread Pizza in Amesbury on Tuesday, March 17. A portion of all pizza sales in-house and take-out will go to support the work of the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter. There will be many items for people to take chances on, including two, three-hour tours with Plum Island Kayak, an overnight for two at the Ashworth with breakfast and a one-hour fitness consult at Natural High Fitness. The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
New Tech Tuesdays
Join us once a month to learn about a new technology topic. The first meeting will be Tuesday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m. to learn about downloadable e-books and audio books from Overdrive, the library’s download library. The library has a large collection of eBooks and downloadable audio books available to borrow with a library card and this class will teach how to setup an account, download digital materials, and load them onto readers and tablets. Bring an eReader, tablet, Kindle or smartphone to follow along. There will be time for questions at the end of the class. Space is limited; call 978-388-8148 or go to the website www.amesburylibrary.org to sign up.
History of Lowell’s Boat Shop presentation
Master Boat Builder Graham McKay and education coordinator Patty Hoyt present the history of the oldest continuously operating boat shop in America. McKay and Hoyt will present a slideshow that includes historic photos along the river.
