Holiday card making for the community
The Children’s Room at the Amesbury Public Library is getting into the holiday spirit and creating cards for the residents of the Merrimack Valley Health Center on Maple Street. Kids and adults are encouraged to stop by the Children’s Room between now and Dec. 17 to make a card and drop it in the “mailbox.” Want to actually see the smiles these cards will bring? Families can join staff in delivering the cards on Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. Sign up in the library or online at www.amesburylibrary.org. Winter science workshop for preschoolers
Imajine That comes to the library with snow many fun things on Dec. 16 for a great program about houses in winter. Then kids can build their own igloo! Ages 3 to 6 welcome. Registration is required. Holiday Sing-Along and craft program
Get into the holiday spirit on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 2:30 p.m. and come to a sing-along for families of all ages. Sing classic kids carols and songs and read a cozy holiday story. End the fun by making some happy marshmallow snowmen to take home. A great event for the whole family and no registration required. Curbside yard waste collection
Collections will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13. Place clippings in brown recyclable bags or loose in a marked barrel. Bags must be at the curb by 6:30 a.m. and contain only leaves and grass clippings (no brush, dirt or stone). G. Mello will not be sent back to collect yard waste that is in unmarked barrels; black or white plastic bags or from bags that are torn. Do not leave recyclable paper bags out in damp weather and bags should not be placed at the curb prior to the day before collection.
