AMESBURY – Work to extend the Ghost and Garrison Shared Use Path to fully connect the trail system in Salisbury and Amesbury will mean the temporary daytime closure of the on-ramp from Route 110 westbound onto I-95 southbound in Amesbury.
The closures will take place Sept. 12 and 13 and then Sept. 16-20, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
These temporary on-ramp closures are from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., each day and will allow crews "to safely and effectively conduct construction operations," MassDOT said in a press release.
During the closures, traffic trying to get on I-95 southbound from Route 110 westbound will be diverted to Rabbit Road. Detour signs will be in place directing drivers to take a right turn onto Rabbit Road in Salisbury, left onto Route 286, and then right onto I-95 southbound.
Signs, traffic control devices, variable message boards, and law enforcement details will be used to guide drivers around the work zone. Drivers who are traveling through the impacted areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and is subject to change without notice, according to MassDOT.
