Gould Insurance Agency marks anniversary
Gould Insurance Agency Inc. of Amesbury recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with Merchants Insurance Group, headquartered in Buffalo, N.Y. Gould has been serving the commercial and personal insurance needs of the Amesbury/Essex County areas since 1934. It joined with Merchants in 1992.
Merchants aims to partner with agencies such as Gould that focus on the client first by matching quality insurance products to their clients’ needs and providing outstanding customer service.
Doyle named to Estate Planning
Hall of Fame
Jeremiah Doyle IV of Newburyport, a planning expert in the wealth management business of BNY Mellon, was recently inducted into the Estate Planning Hall of Fame and awarded the Accredited Estate Planner designation by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils at its annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.
The award, given annually, recognizes a planner’s distinguished service to the field of estate planning. The NAEPC’s particular focus is on professionals in accounting, insurance, law, financial planning and trust services, with an eye to gaining recognition of estate planning as a professional specialty.
Doyle, a wealth strategist for BNY Mellon Wealth Management and a senior vice president of BNY Mellon, has been with the firm since 1981. In 2009. Doyle was named the Boston 2009 Estate Planner of the Year by the Boston Estate Planning Council, which is affiliated with the NAEPC. A member of the Massachusetts bar, Doyle is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, U.S. State Court of Appeals (First Circuit) and U.S. Tax Court. He is the editor and co-author of “Preparing Fiduciary Income Tax Returns” and co-authored “Preparing Estate Tax Returns, Understanding and Using Trusts and Drafting Irrevocable Trusts in Massachusetts.”
He earned a master’s of law in banking law and a master’s of law in taxation from Boston University Law School. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University and earned his undergraduate degree at Providence College in Rhode Island. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Estate Planning Council. He is a frequent speaker at professional conferences around the country, including meetings of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a regular commentator for such media outlets as Dow Jones Newswires, The Wall Street Journal and CNBC.
Specialty food shop moved to Port
Stonewall Kitchen, a leading specialty food manufacturer and retailer, has opened its 11th company store in downtown Newburyport at 35 State St.
“Newburyport is a great fit for us,” marketing director Janine Somers said. “It’s a charming community that we’ve been researching for some time. We are excited to participate in local events and share our passion for high-quality specialty foods and home accessories with guests.”
Stonewall Kitchen’s retail footprint includes company stores in Maine, New Hampshire , Connecticut and Maryland. Celebratory events scheduled for the Newburyport location include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Donna Holaday on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. and a Grand Opening Weekend Event on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9.
