NEWBURYPORT — Congregation Ahavas Achim’s congregational leader, Alex Matthews, will be a guest Friday on WJOP’s “The Morning Show.”

Host Mary Jacobsen will interview Matthews about his leadership in Newburyport and his enrollment in the rabbinical program at Hebrew College in Newton, from which he is set to graduate and be ordained in 2023.

Matthews also will discuss the work he pursued prior to becoming a spiritual leader, including serving with the Peace Corps in Peru, and spending seven years managing vegetable farms in northeast Massachusetts.

In the show’s book review segment, Melinda Everett will explore Ronan Farrow’s nonfiction best seller “Catch and Kill,” which she calls a “drop-everything-you’re-doing must-read account of lies, spies and the takedown of sexual predator and studio head Harvey Weinstein.”

“The Morning Show” airs Fridays from 8-9 a.m. on WJOP (FM 96.3). Each show will be broadcast again the following Tuesday at 4 p.m. and Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Podcasts of each show are available after broadcast on the Sound Cloud at www.NCMHub.org by clicking on the cloud icon.
