NEWBURY — Town Clerk Leslie Haley reminds residents that dog licenses and parking permits for 2020 are now available.

Dog licenses are due by Jan. 1. The fee is $10 for each spayed or neutered dog; or $15 if the dog has not been fixed. Dog licenses are available at the Town Clerk’s Office, by mail, or purchased online. Applications can be accessed via the town clerk’s page at

Parking permits are available to Newbury residents only. The town census/street listing and/or a real estate tax bill will be used to verify residency. Applicants should include a copy of their property tax bill with the application to expedite the process.

Renters must appear on the town’s current list of residents or may be required to show proof of lease or rental agreement.

Residential parking permits cost $25 for ages 16 to 64 years; $20 for senior citizen 65+ years and veterans; and $5 for a replacement sticker. Permits may be purchased in person, by mail or on-line and are valid for a calendar year.

Upon verification of their online applications received during the work week, residents will be issued a temporary parking permit that will be valid for two weeks until they receive their permanent sticker in the mail. Mail-in or in-person applications will be processed in the Town Clerk’s Office during regular Town Hall business hours.
