Georgetown woman on Fulbright in Germany

GEORGETOWN – Jennifer Nutter of Georgetown is one of two Union College students awarded Fulbright Fellowships this year.

Nutter, a biomedical engineering major who is a member of the Class of 2019, will be doing her Fulbright project on “The Influence of Sensory Pathways on the Biomechanics of the Lower Leg” based at the University of Darmstadt in Germany. While in Germany she will be teaching an English biomedical engineering course to undergraduate students, and also teaching swimming lessons and coaching youth swimmers in the community.

At Union College Nutter is the swim team captain; and a member of Engineers for a Sustainable World; the Biomedical Engineering Society; and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

She previously studied for a term abroad in the Czech Republic, and has done internships in the Biomedical Engineering Summer Clinical Immersion Program at Union College and Albany Medical College (summer 2018); and the Stanley Black & Decker Internship, Towson, Maryland, in 2017.

After she completes her Fulbright Fellowship Nutter plans to attend medical school to work in the field or orthopedics or sports medicine.
