GEORGETOWN — There are two positions available on the Georgetown Historical Commission. The committee invites residents with an appreciation of the town's rich history to contact them for an interview at the next regularly scheduled meeting, held at the Town Hall Basement Meeting room at 7:30 on the third Thursday of each month.
The goal of the commission is to undertake a number of activities for the purpose of preserving, protecting and developing the historic and archaeological assets of the community. The commission assists with historic house documentation, house plaque acquisition and keeps inventories of historic sites that are on file with the Massachusetts Historical Commission, and they are very active in procuring CPA funding for historic projects in the community.
