The Larkin and Morrill mill in Newbury was originally owned by the Wheeler family. Over the course of 250 years, it was also owned by the Noyes, Tenney, Larkin, Morrill and Pearson families. It was purchased by the Pearson Tobacco Company in 1899, and was later known as the Byfield Snuff Company.
