The following is a listing of holiday religious services submitted by area houses of worship.

Central Congregational

Central Congregational Church, 14 Titcomb St., Newburyport, led by the Rev. Christopher Ney, offers two Christmas Eve services.

The 4 p.m. service includes lively music by the Central Church Christmas Band. The one at 7 p.m. is a traditional candlelight service of lessons and carols with music by the Chancel Choir. Both end with candlelight.

Congregation Ahavas Achim

Congregation Ahavas Achim, 53½ Washington St., Newburyport, invites the public to a menorah lighting in Market Square each day at 5:30 p.m. — except for Christmas Day and Friday, Dec. 27 — through Sunday, Dec. 29. The lighting Dec. 27 will be at 3:30 p.m. before the start of Shabbat.

An interfaith candle lighting service will be offered Wednesday, Dec. 25, at 4 p.m. in Market Square. New congregation leader Alex Matthews will be joined by the Rev. Rebecca Bryan of the First Religion Society, Unitarian Universalist Church, and the Rev. Christopher Ney of Central Congregational Church. Community members of all faiths and ages welcome. Baked goods and warm goods will be served.

St. Paul’s Episcopal

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 High St., Newburyport, presents holiday services.

Christmas Eve service: 3:45 p.m., prelude of Christmas music; 4 p.m., service of Holy Eucharist with Christmas pageant and holy baptism; 9 p.m., music program of carols and anthems; 9:30 p.m., festival of Holy Eucharist. Christmas Day: 10 a.m., prayer in St. Anna’s Chapel.

A meal will be served Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All are welcome and registration is not required.

Union Congregational

Union Congregational Church, 350 Main St., Point Shore, Amesbury, offers a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m.

Hope Community

Hope Community Church, 11 Hale St., Newburyport, presents candlelight Christmas Eve services at 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Old South First Presbyterian

Old South First Presbyterian Church, 29 Federal St., Newburyport, presents a candlelight service, “Joy to the World!” is Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. Nursery care will be provided.

FRS Unitarian Universalist

The First Religious Society, Unitarian Universalist, Newburyport, led by the Rev. Rebecca Bryan, presents a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m.

Belleville Congregational

Belleville Congregational Church, 300 High St., Newburyport, offers a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5:30 p.m. in the meetinghouse.

Holy Family Parish, Star of the Sea

Holy Family Parish, 9 Sparhawk St., Amesbury, and Star of the Sea Parish, 18 Beach Road, Salisbury, are led by the Rev. Scott Euvrard.

Christmas Eve Mass will be celebrated at 4 and 8 p.m. at Holy Family, 4 p.m. at Star of the Sea beach chapel and 6 p.m. at the Star of the Sea Parish. Christmas Day Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. at Holy Family and 10 a.m. at Star of the Sea Parish.

Market Street Baptist

Market Street Baptist Church, 37 Market St., Amesbury, presents a Christmas Eve pageant and family candlelight service from 5 to 6 p.m.

West Newbury Congregational

West Newbury Congregational Church, 308 Main St., West Newbury, offers a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m.

First Parish Church

First Parish Church of Newbury, 20 High Road, offers a candlelight service on Christmas Eve at 5 p.m.
