NEWBURYPORT — Mozart’s comedy, “Le Nozze di Figaro,” will be heard live over Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network on Saturday at 1 p.m. on WJOP-LP 96.3.
Czech bass-baritone Adam Plachetka reprises the title role of the clever valet. German soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller is his fiesty fiancee, the maid Susanna.
The cast also stars Amanda Woodbury as the countess Almaviva, Etienne Dupuis as the count and Marianne Crebassa as the pageboy Cherubino.
The performance features the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus led by Cornelius Meister, who made his Met debut in 2019 with “Don Giovanni.”
Mary Jo Heath hosts the Saturday afternoon radio broadcasts and is joined by commentator Ira Siff. The intermission will include artist interviews and an interview with Met General Manager Peter Gelb.
