SALISBURY – Nearly 400 people recently gathered at the Blue Ocean Music Hall for the Links of Hope Gala to raise more than $135,000 as part of National Recovery Month.
The Links event was attended by Gov. Charlie Baker. Frank Cousins Jr., former Essex County sheriff and president/CEO of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry, received the Nick Costello Heroes in Recovery Award.
Comedian Jimmy Tingle was the emcee and John Broderick, Dartmouth-Hitchcock senior director of external affairs, was the keynote speaker.
“We are so grateful for the terrific response to Links of Hope," said Link House Executive Director Gary Gastman. "It is evident the community wants to embrace our mission. We are proud to be a thought leader and organization that is truly responding to the needs of our community."
