NEWBURYPORT — In a special 90-minute live broadcast of Saturday’s Local Pulse talk show, candidates for Newburyport’s city councilor at-large seats will field questions about issues such as Waterfront West and the ballot question regarding retail marijuana.

All seven candidates for the five at-large seats have said they will attend, including incumbents Barry Connell, Bruce Vogel, Joseph Devlin and Afroz Khan, and challengers Robert Germinara, Paul C. O’Brien and Charles Tontar.

Host Joe DiBiase will ask a series of questions of interest to residents and voters, and each candidate will have up to one minute, 30 seconds to respond to each question. Once all the candidates have had an opportunity to answer a question, each candidate will have up to 45 seconds to follow up on it.

Local Pulse airs live from 9 to 10 a.m. every Saturday from the newsroom of The Daily News on Liberty Street. This week’s show will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
