NEWBURYPORT — The three candidates running for Ward 6 city councilor in the Sept. 17 preliminary election are scheduled to participate in a forum on Saturday morning’s internet broadcast of the Local Pulse radio show.
The forum will run from 9 to 10 a.m. and will be held in The Daily News newsroom.
The candidates in the running for the Ward 6 council seat are Sarah Hall of 8 Arthur Welch Drive, Byron J. Lane of 14 Hart Road, and Mary Zinck of 6 Laurel Road.
The preliminary election will narrow the field to two candidates who will compete in the Nov. 5 municipal election, which will feature races for all City Council seats and three School Committee positions. The ballot this year does not include a mayoral race.
During the forum, Local Pulse host Joe DiBiase will read a bio submitted by each candidate, and then will pose questions of interest to city residents and voters. Each candidate will have one minute and 45 seconds to answer each question, and an additional 45 seconds to follow up on each question after every candidate has spoken.
At the end of the segment, each candidate will be allowed to give a 90-second closing statement.
To listen to the candidates’ forum live, tune in to Local Pulse at 9 a.m. on Saturday online at www.NewburyportNews.com/LocalPulse. All broadcasts also can be downloaded for listening at any time.
