AMESBURY - One person was killed Saturday night in a one-car crash around 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 495 north just after Exit 54 in Amesbury, according to state police.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Michael Crowley indicates that Sabrina Milone, 21, of Garden City, N.Y., was driving northbound on I-495 in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler when, for reasons still under investigation, she drove off the right side of the road and crashed. Milone was transported to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport were she died from her injuries. Milone was the only person in the Wrangler.
All but the far left-hand lane was closed as Amesbury firefighters and state police responded to the crash. A police cruiser was stationed on Route 150 blocking access to the highway on-ramp. The crash remains under investigation, according to state police.
