AMESBURY – Four-year-old Oliver Egmont of Amesbury got to spend some time with Amesbury's new mayor Friday morning.
The youngster's mother, Andrea Egmont, campaigned for Kassandra Gove last fall when she was running for mayor, taking Oliver along on some events. When Gove won the election he said he wanted to meet with her and ask some questions.
When they met first thing Friday morning, Oliver asked about what's being done to keep the parks clean and had issues about litter of the lakes and streams. He also had concerns about people going without certain needs, including children needing toys. The mayor assured him that the town has people working on all of those issues and thanked him for his concerns.
