NEWBURYPORT — Resident and downtown employee parking lot permits expired June 30, and can now be renewed online or at the city clerk’s office. 

New permits will last through June 30, 2020.

Residents can buy permits for $18 per year, while senior residents age 65 and older pay $5 per year to park in municipal lots. Downtown employees have the option of paying $160 per year or $40 per quarter.

Permit decals that had been placed on windshields were eliminated and upgraded to digital permits last year. 

From Jan. 1 through March 31, the city lots are enforced Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. From April 1 to Dec. 31, the lots are enforced Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
