NEWBURYPORT

The following items were recorded in the Newburyport police log:

Police responded to an attempted breaking and entering Tuesday at 11 a.m. on Prospect Street. According to police, a man attempted to enter the house while the occupant was upstairs. The suspect then fled on foot before police arrived.

AMESBURY

The following items were recorded in the Amesbury police log:

Nam Q. Phan, 28, 395 Merrimack St., No. 34, Methuen, was issued a summons Monday at 12:58 p.m. on charges of fail to inspect motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Officer Steven Reed issued the summons on Macy Street.

Martin G. Kelly, 55, 3 Allenclaire Drive, Amesbury, was arrested Monday at 2:49 p.m. and charged with a previous warrant. Officer Reed made the arrest on Allenclaire Drive.

James Michael Holloway, 27, 85 Sheridan St., Laconia, N.H., was arrested Monday at 6:50 p.m. and charged with possession of a class B substance. Officers Raymond Landry, Jason Kooken and David Noyes made the arrest on Ring Street.

Shun C. Wood, 27, 10 Jefferson St., Lynn, was arrested Monday at 8:41 p.m. and charged with a previous warrant. Officers Noyes, Kooken and Kevin Donovan made the arrest on Market Street.

Gioia R. Clarke, 33, 51 Thompson St., Amesbury, was issued a summons Monday at 9:41 p.m. on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Officers Charles Sciacca and Ronald Guilmette issued the summons on Thompson Street.

SEABROOK

The following item was recorded in the Seabrook police log:

Joshua Jennings Whaley, 23, 141 Beach Road, Apt. D14, Salisbury, was arrested Monday at 9:45 p.m. and charged with willful concealment. Officer Ryan Kane made the arrest in Route 286.

STATE POLICE

The following items were recorded at the Newbury barracks:

Juan DeJesus, 25, 190 High St., No. 3, Lowell, was arrested Monday at 1:25 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, marked lanes and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Trooper McCrave made the arrest in Merrimac.

Donald Barnard, 56, 66 Highland Ave., No. 4, Haverhill, was arrested Monday at 4:57 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol. Trooper Smith made the arrest in Haverhill.

John Rice, 25, 15 Central St., Apt. 1R, Haverhill, was issued a summons Monday at 9:59 p.m. on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Trooper Demeo issued the summons in Haverhill.
