The Friends of the Rowley Council on Aging is holding its second annual Shoe & Textile Drive from April to October. During this time period, residents are invited to drop off gently-used shoes, slippers, flip flops, purses, backpacks, belts, sheets, towels and blankets at the drop box located in the Town Hall Annex parking lot at 39 Central Street.
The artwork of Candace Reed Stella is on display during June at the Rowley Public Library. Stella’s paintings showcase local marshes, meadows, beaches and more. She also is the author of Ebb and Flow: Paintings of Choate Island, the Ipswich Salt Marsh, and Dunes.
SHINE (Serving the Health Information of Elders) and the Rowley Council on Aging are sponsoring an “Introduction to Medicare” seminar on Monday, June 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rowley Public Library. Details will be available about Medicare options, when to enroll, what it will cost, how it interacts with a retirement plan and more.

Our Neighbors’ Table of Amesbury is offering a Summer Lunch Program that provides groceries to families in the 12 towns it serves, Rowley being one of them. Learn more about what that means about you in a new offering at the Rowley Public Library: Introduction to Astrology, which will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the library. This free presentation will be hosted by longtime astrology writer and columnist Sally Cragin, whose books include Born on the Cusp and The Astrology Elements. Don’t forget pen and paper to take notes as you walk through the basics of understanding the principles of astrology.
Join the fun in the latest Dungeons & Dragons game at the Rowley Public Library on Saturday, June 22. Two games will take place – officiated by Dungeon Master Alex Keevan – one at 10:30 a.m. and one at 1 p.m. These games are best for those age 10 and up, and include role playing and character building (in the first session), and combative, battle-driven adventures (at the 1 p.m. session).
