The meeting to present a proposal for a $60 million horse racing track off Silva Lane (off Route 133 near Daniels Road) has been rescheduled for Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. in the all-purpose room at the Pine Grove School.

The original meeting, Sept. 23, was postponed because the large crowd that arrived exceeded capacity at Town Hall. Attorney Robert Scarano, William Lagorio and John Grossi of the Massachusetts Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association are scheduled to discuss the details of the proposal at the Oct. 21 meeting.

And the winner is …. Pine Grove School. The Triton district elementary schools recently had a friendly competition to see which school could sign up the most members for its PTA, and Rowley’s Pine Grove School won.

It was a tight race with 50 percent of the Pine Grove community registered to become a part of the school’s PTA, Salisbury with 48 percent and Newbury with 30 percent. The losing principals have committed to wear the winning school’s spirit wear for a whole day (the day is yet to be determined).
