NEWBURYPORT — The Merrimack Valley Ship Model Club will hold its fourth annual exhibit at Yankee Homecoming.

The free event take places Saturday through Aug. 4 on the lower level of Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Pleasant St.

It is one of the largest ship model exhibits in the Northeast, said Alex Bellinger, a member of the club. More than 70 models will be showcased throughout the week.

“The models will show a wide range of vessel types, from modest rowing craft to major warships and oceangoing craft,” Bellinger said.

Several modeling styles will also be featured, including miniatures, ships in bottles and large radio-controlled models, Bellinger said.

Club members will be on hand throughout the week to answer questions about the models and to demonstrate modeling techniques, he added.
