NEWBURYPORT — Storm Surge will host a presentation Tuesday from University of New Hampshire professor Cameron Wake titled “Climate Change: From Science to Solutions.”

Wake will look at the challenge of climate change as well as the innovation opportunities it presents. The program starts at 7 p.m. at the Parker River National Wildlife Visitors Center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Wake is a climate and sustainability professor at UNH and is the program chair of the UNH Sustainability Institute. He has investigated regional climate change, and helps lead Climate Solutions New England, a collaborative effort to support sustainable communities seeking solutions to climate change.

He will discuss the impact of climate change and the warnings presented by a new U.N. report for communities in the Merrimack Valley. During a recent conversation, he said, “Over the past six decades, New England’s climate has been getting warmer and wetter, extreme precipitation events have increased dramatically and sea levels continue to rise.”
