SEABROOK (AP) — State police say a teenager was killed and two others were injured when their pickup truck collided with a tractor trailer on Interstate 95, crossed a grass median and flipped over before stopping.
New Hampshire State Police say the vehicle driven by 18-year-old Brandon Petit, of Raymond, N.H., cut in front of a tractor trailer while trying to get off at Exit 1 on Friday evening. They say the pickup and the truck driven by 43-year-old Neil Swain, of Canaan, Maine, collided, and the pickup was sent across the median.
Police say Brandon Johns, 15, a freshman at Exeter High School, was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 13-year-old girl was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition and name were not released, due to her age.
The highway exits were shut down and a lifeflight helicopter was brought in to transport the girl to the hospital.
Petit was transported to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport with non-life threatening injuries. Swain was not injured.
Police say the accident is being investigated.
