NEWBURYPORT – From tiny snails to massive mammals, animals will be the topic on Friday’s “Morning Show,” on WJOP radio.
Lisa Hutchings, Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center’s coordinator of school and youth education, will describe the grand opening on June 27th of the center’s 110-gallon touch tank. Radio show host Mary Jacobsen will interview Hutchings about the “Meet Beach Creatures” summer offering which affords children the chance to learn about and touch creatures living in the tank, ranging from snails and clams to mummichugs and horseshoe crabs.
Hutchings will also describe other summer offerings sponsored by Joppa Flats, ranging from guided Merrimack River explorations on the Yankee Clipper to the “Imagine, Sing & Learn” series of fun-filled mornings for preschoolers and caregivers offered on Tuesdays from June 25 through August 6.
Colleen Cullen and Sally Owen of Massachusetts for Elephants, will also be guests on Friday’s show to discuss this non-profit advocacy organization’s work to preserve and protect elephants.
