Help through college maze on Oct. 16
Just in time for that often-daunting college application season, Jim Obernesser, a college admissions consultant and founder of “Your Way To College,” visits the GAR Memorial Library to discuss the challenges of today’s college admissions process for students and their families. “Finding Your Way Through the College Maze” will be presented on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the library. Obernesser will review a wide range of topics, such as how and why to look past college rankings and ratings; what selective colleges look for in a candidate; locating the best financial opportunities; and how to avoid traps, deal with misconceptions and minimize stress. There will also be plenty time of time for questions.
