WEST NEWBURY — The Friends of the West Newbury Council on Aging’s fourth annual yard sale is slated for Sept. 28.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All participants need to do is to fill out an application by the deadline to have their property added to the yard sale map.
They then hold a yard sale at a West Newbury home and pocket all proceeds. Organizers take care of all publicity, create the town map showing yard sale locations and items for sale, and provide balloons, internet notices and all advertising.
Applications to register are available on the town website, www.wnnewbury.org, and should be postmarked by Sept. 25 and mailed to Friends of the WNCOA, c/o COA, 1910 Town Office Building, 381 Main St., West Newbury, MA 01985; or they can be dropped off at the office of the COA director in the 1910 Town Office Building no later than noon on Sept. 26. Late registrations will not appear on the map.
Free maps will be available to the public on Sept. 27 and the morning of Sept. 28 at the 1910 Town Office Building, GAR Memorial Library, Haverhill Bank in West Newbury, and From the Heart Quilts in the town square on Main Street on Sept. 27.
Cost to register is $25, with the participation fee going to support the numerous programs and activities for town seniors sponsored by the Friends of the West Newbury Council on Aging.
